Tableaux Vivants

Tableau vivant is French for "living picture." In photography, tableau vivant is used to describe a scene that contains many people frozen in one moment, and so illustrating a larger scene. A good tableau vivant should contain enough to give the viewer a sense of the individual and the entire scene simultaneously.
