Portraits
Creating portraits of people is my favorite aspect of photography. Some people feel that a photograph takes something away from them, but I believe a good portrait actually gives back to the subject by shining a new light into his or her dark spaces. Rene Magritte said that "Everything that is visible hides something that is invisible." Unlike writers, photographers are permanently bound to the visible world. The task is to draw the invisible emotion out until it manifests in a visible, personal form.
